Materials:Your choice of threads for free-motion machine quilting. I use 40-weight rayon and polyester threads for my free-motion work.

  1. Assortment of fabrics to include light, medium and dark. Bring a mix of anything you love - solids, subtle prints and bold prints, but be sure they have tonal contrast. Bring fabrics of fat quarter size and bigger. Include a few one and two yard pieces. You will not have time to make a large quilt so do not need masses of fabric - but you will want to have choices!

  2. 100% cotton batting. Crib size (45” x 60”) should be plenty for your project.

  3. Fabric for the quilt back.

  4. Trapunto batting. Scraps of 80/20 cotton/polyester batting or wool batting.

  5. Two or three pale coloured quilt sandwiches of fat quarter size with 100% cotton batting. These are for practice samples.

  6. A reel of water soluble thread for trapunto.

  7. Single sided fusible interfacing. Double sided fusible interfacing (such as ‘Steam a Seam’).

  8. Your choice of threads for machine appliqué and free-motion machine quilting. I use 50/2 cotton, 40-weight rayon and 40-weight polyester threads for this.

Materials fee covers trapunto yarn, trapunto muslin, wide fusible interfacing.
